Body Composition

I tried one of the Tanita BC 1000 Body Composition Monitors at the Ottawa Race Weekend’s Expo. Not bad results, for a 40-year-old dude with a (standing) desk job!

I tried one of the Tanita BC 1000 Body Composition Monitors at the Ottawa Race Weekend’s Expo. Not bad results, for a 40-year-old dude with a (standing) desk job! 166lbs, 7.7% Body Fat, Metabolic Age of 12yrs, and a BMI of 23.2.

Coach Ben says:

Congratulations, you’re 12 years old. Basically, it’s a good report. Very low visceral fat, low but not too low overall body fat percentage, and probably an UNDERestimated basal metabolic rate of 1980kcal (that part isn’t too accurate unless you’re in a metabolic lab).

I’m not entirely confident in how accurate those scales are, especially the ones that are being used for days on end as a demo model, but it is interesting to see anyway. It’s always nice to know that I am headed in the right direction!
