Fitness Digest – May 30, 2021

Do you know what is holding you back?

You know that maintaining a healthy lifestyle requires a variety of skills, habits, and attitudes, such as impulse control, planning, and self-awareness.  Some of these may come may easily to you and others may be more challenging (to say the least).

Well, Monica Reinagel and I have developed a quiz (well, actually it is more of a scientifically validated assessment) that surfaces your current abilities and tendencies in six different categories associated with successful weight management and then gives you some guidance as to where you may want to focus your efforts.

Take the quiz FOR FREE and find your focus over on our Weighless.life website.

And now, with that out of the way, on with this week’s digest!

If any of the following topics happen to tickle your fancy, click the underlined text to read or listen.

Podcasts:

Get-Fit Guy – How to Raise a Child Who Loves to Move
Biomechanist Katy Bowman, a leader in the Movement movement, has written a new book to teach us the critical role of movement to the human body (it’s basically a nutrient!). And more importantly, how we can get our kids moving again.

Get-Fit Guy – How to Get Your Kids Moving with a Podcast
Is it possible for kids to learn, grow, move, and use their creativity while listening to podcasts? A new service called Pinna believes it is. I interviewed Pinna CEO Maggie McGuire to learn more about this innovative new way to get kids moving.

And no, I do not have kids but I do recognize my ability as an adult human on this planet to model and influence the behaviour of our young. I choose to model an active lifestyle that embraces both technology and the great outdoors.

Social Media:

The most popular social media post I had this week was this photo of me looking a little stiff and shakey on our new Stand Up Paddle Board. I need (a lot) more practice but I am already feeling the benefits of this tough but relaxing activity. And don’t worry, I will be blogging and video-ing about it in the near future – stand by!
