Fitness Digest: Dec 12, 2021

Ok… I am going to do something I don’t do very often – sell you something. But you know I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t believe in it 100%, right? Right… ok, putting on my FM DJ voice 😉

Before I even start, let me say this: this is not specifically about weight loss, it’s also not a detox, and there is no calorie counting or forbidden foods. The focus is on developing healthier eating habits – and couldn’t we all use that?

So, with that out of the way, do you want to improve your nutrition and create lifelong sustainable eating habits? Well then I would like to invite you to join me at Monica Reinagle’s 30-Day Nutrition Upgrade on Jan 2, 2022.

This upgrade is a super fun, simple, and highly effective way to reshape your eating habits and upgrade your nutrition, starting exactly where you are right now – no need for a juice cleanse or a 3 day fast to prepare yourself.

It kicks off on Jan 2 at 4:00 pm ET / 1:00 pm PT and to sign up just go to and use the code TeamBrock to get 20% off and join me in upgrading your nutrition.

Second Wind Fitness – How Fit Are You?
Having some tangible insight into your own level of fitness can do things like help you avoid injury. But you can also use fitness tests, repeated at regular intervals, to get a better idea of how effective your training program is. In this episode, I explain the 10 components of fitness and how you can measure them.

Second Wind Fitness – Alcohol and Fitness with Molly Watts (Breaking the Bottle Legacy)
It probably won’t come as a shock to you that alcohol doesn’t play a beneficial role in our fitness journey but in this episode, I dig into the specifics along with my guest/host, Molly Watts. I say guest/host because this episode is a portion of and interview I did on Molly’s podcast, Breaking the Bottle Legacy

Change Academy – How Fast Can You Change?
Some changes happen quickly; but most significant change takes time. And it’s important that your time frame for success be appropriate to the size of your goal. Otherwise, you may not be able to see–or appreciate–the progress you are making. In this episode, Monica and I have some tips on how to make sure that your time frame for success is aligned with the scale of your goal.

Yard Work-out

If you find it difficult to make time to get the movement that your body requires, I suggest using yard work as a way to move more and have fun while you do it!

With a few modifications, yard work can be one of the best workouts you can do. It naturally has opportunities for squats, bends, pulls, lifts, and carries. And if you follow my lead, you can add in a few extra movements like lunges, toe touches, torse twists, push-ups, core strength and even a few Jedi-like moves.

Choosing movements that have a purpose beyond simply “getting some exercise” can be easier to fit into your day, mostly because they can take place outside of your dedicated exercise time (which is a relatively small portion of your day).

So, I suggest you use this video as inspiration for your yard work but also look for opportunities while doing other chores to get more movement into your life! It’s a fun way to get and stay fit.
