Second Wind Fitness – Functional Physical and Mental Fitness w/ Elle Russ
A few months ago I had the honour of being a guest on the Elle Russ show (you may know her from the Primal Blueprint podcast). I have known Elle for a while and it was a blast to catch up with her. I enjoy Elle’s interview style and also her perspective on life so much that I decided to share part of that interview with you here on my podcast – in this very episode.

Change Academy – Consuming Content vs. Creating Change
It’s easy to confuse consuming content (whether in the form of books, podcasts, or other media) with taking action. It feels like you’re doing something (researching, learning, thinking, or planning). All of those things have their place but in this episode, we’re going to challenge you to put what you’ve learned into action.

Change Academy – How to Get the Most out of Coaching
Investing in coaching (whether in a group or individual setting) can help you reach your goals faster or more efficiently. It can also help you create results that you might not be able to create on your own. In this episode, we explore what coaching can and can’t provide and how to know whether you’re a good candidate for a successful coaching experience.

7 Fun Ways to Use a Treadmill… incorrectly! (this is an older video of mine that a friend recently reminded me of)

As I said in the accompanying podcast episode, by being creative with our movement time, we can turn even the most dreaded of exercise machines into a fun game. A game that not only challenges our fitness but allows us to expand our balance, coordination, mobility, stability, flexibility, agility, and accuracy.

So while running on a treadmill or cycling on a stationary bike can be good for our heart, lungs, and legs, it is a biomechanically repetitive set of movements. I am not yucking anyone’s yum – I love both running and cycling – but I also know that my body craves more than that.

So I am happy to re-share these seven fun (and perhaps whacky) ways to use a treadmill. The exercises in this video are:

  • Calf strut
  • Bear crawl
  • Side shuffle / backwards run
  • Mountain climber
  • Plank walk
  • Duck walk
  • Walking lunge
